CPS online services

Since last reported in March, Cooperative Purchasing Services (CPS) General Manager, Ian Holden, advises that there has been significant activity in establishing its e-Procurement Service, with over 100 suppliers in varying stages of having their products and services accessible for online purchase.

Ian Holden paid tribute to the work of technology partner, Exchange Solutions, which continues to add new features to an already first class product.

CPS, formed in 1989 by the Municipal Association of Victoria, has expanded its services into the world of e-commerce enabling Councils to do their purchasing online.

The first live transaction was made by CPS Chairman, Valerie Ogier, in officially launching the new function.

“Training sessions have been taking place for suppliers and purchasers,” Ian Holden said. “All participants have left impressed at the capability of the system and ease of use.”

He said that there had been widespread interest with groups of Councils in NSW Tasmania and SA seeking information and presentations and those who have seen it have described it as the ‘top of the range’ of systems currently available in the market.

CPS is delighted with the recent decision of the Local Government Association of Northern Territory to join CPS in a partnership that will give every Council in NT access to the CPS Member Market.
