9th Management Excellence Awards

With 50 nominations across five categories, the 9th Management Excellence Awards, hosted by the Institute of Municipal Management (NSW Division) and Sydney Morning Herald, once again illustrates the high quality of management in Local Government.

“These awards recognise corporate excellence and raise public awareness of the level of excellence being achieved,” said IMM President, Gerry Brus.

Gold and Silver awards were presented to winning Councils and individuals.

The Finance Professionals Gold Award was won by Eurobodalla Shire Council for its Environmental Accounting.

In the category Progress and Staff Development, a Silver Award went to Port Stephens Council, while Sydney City Council took out the Gold Award for its program ‘City Safari’.

This staff orientation tool assists staff in welcoming visitors to Sydney, especially those who will be attending the Olympic Games.

The Management Team Gold Award was won by Campbelltown City Council, while Eurobodalla Shire took out the Silver Award.

Craig Wrightson from Marrickville Council was awarded the Silver Young Manager Award. The Gold Award was won by Kevin Fernandez from Newcastle City Council.
