Government Fleet is riding high*

With over 200,000 vehicles in government fleets around Australia, fleet is big business.

It is also a more varied business than ever with increasingly diverse requirements from different sectors. A growing number of government sector jobs involve site visits and off road job sites, and this isn’t just the domain of the construction and mining industries. Higher running clearance is a necessity for many fleet agencies for easy access across rough, uneven terrain on job sites. This requires a more elevated chassis, bigger suspension and what’s termed ‘ride height’. Local councils in Australia, who generally don’t require a 4×4, still need height and running clearance for driving around local parks, reserves and maintenance sites.

Toyota is leading the charge with their new HiLux Hi-Rider range, effectively a 2WD with the ride height of a 4WD. This new range promises all the benefits of a high ride at a more cost effective price point than its 4WD counterparts. The Hi-Rider range boasts all the features valued by government fleet drivers including, the 5 Star ANCAP Safety Rating and both automatic and manual transmission but with extra height and suspension; something that’s proving very popular with fleet agencies.

New Toyota HiLux Hi-Rider
Imagine the comfort, safety and power you’d expect from a 2WD HiLux, combined with the ride height of a 4WD. With the HiLux Hi-Rider, your staff can traverse parking lots to parklands with ease.

The two variants in the range are the SR and SR5 4×2 Hi-Rider double cab pick-ups.
