Investing in collaboration*

The City of Swan will host the EDA 2016 National Economic Development Australia Conference from October 5-7 at the Mandoon Estate & Homestead Brewery in Perth’s picturesque Swan Valley.

It is the first time the National Economic Development Conference (NEDC) has been held in Western Australia. The three day conference is expected to attract more than 200 delegates including economic development practitioners from both interstate and overseas; representatives from across all levels of government; as well as various aligned organisations from within WA.

Investing in collaboration, shared goals, strong partnerships and inspired leaders is what NEDC 2016 is all about. The conference will feature a compelling program of well-known and well-regarded local and International thought leaders carefully selected for their knowledge, expertise and ability to encourage a robust dialogue around the conference’s two central themes:

  • local government leading the way in economic development; and
  • collaborating to achieve economic and infrastructure priorities.
  • The 2016 National Economic Development Conference includes a welcome cocktail party and the EDA Awards Gala Dinner.
  • The Annual National Economic Development Awards for Excellence will be just one of many outstanding opportunities for business and professional networking at 2016 NEDC.

Other events will include:

  • a half-day intensive masterclass focused on why university partnerships are essential to achieve regional growth
  • and prosperity
  • a technical tour taking in a number of innovative economic, tourism and infrastructure development projects in the Perth metropolitan region including the Swan Valley, Midland’s Railway Workshops redevelopment, Perth Stadium, Perth City Link, Kings Park, Cathedral Square and Perth’s newest attraction, Elizabeth Quay; and
  • the Twilight Markets where you can network among peers in a more relaxed atmosphere while trialling some of the Swan Valley’s quality produce and products.
