ALGWA bursary supporting women

The Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) Victorian Branch has announced that applications are now open for the 2018 Bursary Award for women working in Local Government.

The Bursary, established 1987, was the brainchild of then President Pam Robinson OAM who will this year return as guest coordinator for
the award.

ALGWA Victorian branch Executive Officer Helen Harris said that in the absence of the usual Bursary Coordinator, Councillor Raylene Carr, who is unavailable this year, Pam stepped in to help.

“The Bursary was an initiative of Pam’s when she was the Victorian President. It is great to have her continuing interest in the organisation.”

The Award is currently worth $1,750.

An overview of the Award, application form and Council reference letter are on the website. Applicants must be currently undertaking study relative to their role in Local Government.

Applications close on Thursday 15 March 2018.  The successful applicant will be required to attend an awards ceremony on the afternoon of the 19 April.
