The Shire of Wiluna in Western Australia has selected MAGIQ Documents to achieve its records and document management requirements and significantly improve community and stakeholder access to Council information.
The Shire of Wiluna is a smaller, remote council located in the mid west region of Western Australia around 950 kilometres northeast of Perth.
The Shire covers an immense area of 182,155 square kilometres and is predominantly mining and pastoral land.
The town of Wiluna is the service centre for the Shire providing services to the local Aboriginal people, the pastoral industry and to a substantial ‘fly-in/fly-out’ community employed by the gold and uranium mines in the area.
Wiluna is also the gateway to the Canning Stock Route (1850km in length) and the Gunbarrel Highway (1350km in length), which are considered by enthusiasts to be two of the world’s great 4WD adventures.
MAGIQ Documents is a web-based, fully integrated suite of electronic document and records management software.
The overall simplicity and intuitive design of the software means it is very easy for staff to use and learn, which leads to excellent take-up and adoption.
One of the key drivers for implementing MAGIQ Documents has been the need to provide its remote community and stakeholders with efficient access to Council documents.
This has previously been a challenge for Council largely due to its sheer geographical size.
MAGIQ Documents will remove this frustration and provide all stakeholders – staff, councilors and other members of the community, with secure access to documents such as Council reports, meeting agendas and minutes.
In addition to delivering improved service to its community MAGIQ Documents will also help Council to reduce its business risk by ensuring everyone is accessing the latest, up-to-date information.
MAGIQ Documents will integrate with the Shire’s core business system, the Information Technology Vision SynergySoft application allowing staff to easily access and manage documents, leading to improved customer service and business efficiency.
Chief Executive Officer MAGIQ Software, Colin Lillywhite, said, “We’re delighted the Shire of Wiluna has chosen to implement MAGIQ Documents to achieve its records and document management requirements.
“We have many customers in remote locations who face similar challenges and we’re looking forward to working with the Shire to help them improve the management and accessibility of their documents.”
Reliable, customer service and support is also very important to Wiluna Shire given its remote location and limited access to suitable resources.
MAGIQ Software has a deep understanding of this need and has developed a customer service philosophy focused on providing very accessible, high quality customer service.
“Our customer service philosophy is focused on providing our customers with a high level of comfort and confidence that our friendly and knowledgeable MAGIQ Consultants will be there to help them as and when needed.”
