Kids Club kicks off

Kids Club is a free, after school program encouraging young people to make use of the resources at the Burdekin library.

Burdekin Shire Council, Queensland, has introduced a brand-new initiative this month, with the launch of Kids Club.

The program will be held in the Burdekin Library from 3-5pm every Friday of school terms, and welcomes all children between the ages of 5-16 to participate.

Burdekin Shire Council Manager Community Services, David Cornwell, said Kids Club was a fantastic way for residents of all ages to make the most of the
Burdekin Library.

“The Burdekin Libraries have a fantastic range of resources available for the community to utilise, with a lot of students making the most of the venues to complete their homework and assignments.

“Introducing Kids Club offers a way to keep even those not-so-studious children entertained while their siblings can concentrate in peace.

“The Kids Club program will feature different activities weekly, ranging from science and Lego to music, arts and crafts, and more.

Each week’s activity will be announced exclusively on the Burdekin Library Facebook page, encouraging parents and students to keep their eyes on the page for updates on Kids Club and other exciting announcements throughout the year.
