Two decades of the Twilight Concerts

The City of Prospect is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the annual Twilight Concerts at Prospect Memorial Gardens.

The Twilight Concerts have secured a special place in the community’s heart, with an excellent music program providing a focus for this family-friendly event held over the course of four Friday evenings each summer.

The 2015 event kicked off with a Party in the Park that featured Santana tribute band Soultana.

Capitol Swing performed on Friday 13 February, and Aurora Quartet and Eclectica are set to entertain the audience well into the night with a huge evening of classic music on Friday 20 February.

It all concludes with the big Latin Dance Party on Friday
27 February, which will see band Salcedo, and Latin dancers together with a

Samba parade take to the stage and wow the crowd with their energetic sound and movement.

Young people were also supplied with a range of activities including a jumping castle, giant chess and much more.

The soon to be upgraded Memorial Gardens playground will get a workout by the younger kids, while a range of youth–focused activities will keep teenagers involved.

“The annual Twilight Concerts generate an outpouring of community spirit and camaraderie between residents and visitors, who come to enjoy our music nights in the beautiful Prospect Memorial Gardens,” said Nathan Cunningham, Director Community, Planning and Communications.

The Prospect Rotary Club will be on hand once again with free kids ice blocks and cool drinks, and the Prospect Blair Athol Lions Club will also host a barbecue to raise funds for their club.
