Braybrook hub gets funding boost

Mayor of the City of Maribyrnong, Councillor Catherine Cumming, has welcomed a funding announcement by the Victorian Government for $1.5 million in capital grants towards the Braybrook Community Hub.

The funding is to create a new Integrated Child and Family Centre as part of the redevelopment of the existing Braybrook Community Centre. The new Braybrook Community Hub will also include a new library, sports pavilion, community spaces and meeting rooms.

“This funding brings the Braybrook Community Hub one step closer,” said Cr Cumming.

“Council has long recognised the need for redevelopment of the Braybrook Community Centre as part of a broader revitalisation of Braybrook and we welcome the State Government’s financial commitment to Braybrook.

“This is a great example of state and local governments working well together for the betterment of the community,” said Cr Cumming.

“Coordinated investment by all levels of government is what will deliver the services and facilities Braybrook needs and deserves. This funding will directly help children in Braybrook and give them a great start in their first years of life.”

The expected overall cost of the redeveloped Braybrook Community Hub is estimated to be about $12 million
