LGMA National Congress in Hobart

The 2007 Local Government Managers Australia National Congress offers the best of the best from within and outside of Local Government. Informative presentations are delivered through keynote sessions by prominent leaders addressing the theme “Power and the Passion – the Power to make a difference. The Passion to Lead”. It will be staged in Hobart at the Grand Chancellor Hotel from 29 April to 2 May.

The congress theme will be presented by keynote speakers:

  • Challenge Leadership – General Peter Cosgrove AC, MC (retired)
  • Change Leadership – The Hon Jeffrey Kennett AC
  • Inspired Leadership – Kirsty Dunphey
  • Chance Leadership – John Anderson

The latest inclusion to this formidable program of speakers is Phil Burgess, Group Managing Director for Public Policy and Communication, with Telstra. Phil will bring some interesting views on political leadership and government relations.

Concurrent streams dealing with People, Process and Place specifically reflect the needs of Local Government and showcase leading practice. These sessions will enable delegates to build their own program from the many options on offer.

The congress once again also provides the opportunity of meeting and sharing experiences with Local Government personnel – both appointed and elected, from around Australia.

Informative study tours, a diverse social program and partner’s tours complement the congress program and present exciting opportunities to enjoy your stay in Tasmania.

The 2007 congress will also showcase services and products to Local Government though an associated Business Expo.
