The AHRI vision ‘people leading business’ recognises the changing requirements of Australian business against a background of economic challenge. It also acknowledges the continuing opportunity for the HR profession to actively contribute specialist knowledge for the delivery of people management solutions to business.
The AHRI Model of Excellence incorporates the latest research results from the HR Competency Study conducted by University of Michigan and draws from the HR Competency Model developed by Professors Dave Ulrich and Wayne Brockbank. AHRI participated as a regional partner in this study.
On an individual level, the new Model for Excellence will help practitioners determine their strengths and areas for improvement. For the profession as a whole, it will be important in identifying the qualities needed for keeping abreast of developments in changing times.
The model will underpin the development of all AHRI education programs. It will also provide the new structure for the AHRI Professional Recognition Framework,
the Awards for Excellence and Course Accreditation.
The initiative to build AHRI’s curriculum around this research has seen AHRI recognised as a world leader in HR curriculum.
