Moreland City Council is committed to building and maintaining a vibrant, just and liveable city. Results from Council’s annual Community Indicators Survey 2006 indicate that people living in Moreland believe their local area has a sense of community and is a good place to live.
The results also show an increasing sense of community wellbeing, with higher than previous results in a number of the categories.
In 2006, 80 per cent of respondents agreed that there is a sense of community in Moreland.
A very high 91 per cent agreed that Moreland is a good place to raise a family (compared with 88% in 2001) and 85 per cent agreed that it is a safe place to live (82% in 2001).
Eighty-four per cent of respondents agreed with the statement: “You can get to know your neighbours”.
