The City of Bunbury is undergoing a transformative period, with several major projects set to reshape the local economy and cement its position as a premier tourism destination in Western Australia.
At the heart of this transformation is the $97 million Transforming Bunbury Waterfront (TBW) project, a State Government-led initiative, partnered with the City of Bunbury and other agencies, aimed at revitalising the city’s iconic waterfront.
Complementing the TBW is City of Bunbury’s Bicentennial Square development, the creation of a vibrant public space within the waterfront precinct that will improve Bunbury’s liveability for residents but also serve as a magnet for visitors. The proposed plans feature inner city living, water play, retail and dining areas, restoration of the heritage railway station building, and enhanced, safe and accessible friendly landscaping and recreational amenities, making for a picturesque setting for events, festivals, and leisure activities
Further bolstering Bunbury’s tourism appeal is the construction of a new 5-star hotel overlooking the Leschenault Inlet. The proposed luxury accommodation in the heart of the CBD will cater to the growing demand for high-end visitor experiences, offering world-class facilities and unparalleled views of the inlet.
