PolyCom Stabilising Aid welcomes Maurice Serruto as new Technical Manager*

With growing interest amongst local and state government engineers in PolyCom Stabilising Aid for use in road construction and maintenance projects, Maurice Serruto has recently been appointed Technical Manager for the PolyCom network of distributors and agents.

Maurice is an experienced civil engineer and project manager, with a strong background in road recycling and stabilisation. Maurice’s diverse experience includes eight years as an engineer with local government in Melbourne and some 15 years in the road stabilisation industry, including six years with Boral Cement as Pavement Engineer and five years with Downer as Stabilisation Manager for Victoria.  At Downer, Maurice also worked as Project Manager for the flood restoration project at the North-East Maintenance Alliance (NEMA) in 2010/11 where he oversaw the rehabilitation of numerous flood-affected roads.  This experience further reinforced Maurice’s belief in pavement stabilisation as a highly sustainable method of road construction.

Based in Melbourne, Maurice will have a national perspective working with:

  • Earthco Projects Pty Ltd (PolyCom distributor for Victoria, NSW and Tasmania)
  • SEALS Group (PolyCom distributor for Queensland)
  • Betta Roads  (PolyCom distributor for Western Australia) and
  • PolyCom agents in South Australia and NorthernTerritory.

Maurice’s role includes overseeing PolyCom research and development projects, geotechnical investigations and managing the company’s sustainability initiatives in liaison with government agencies.  Maurice will bring his considerable experience in civil engineering and stabilisation expertise to the group as the use of PolyCom continues to expand.

Maurice has seen the benefits that PolyCom can deliver in terms of enhanced material properties, ease of construction and cost savings and is looking forward to the challenge of his new role.

PolyCom Stabilising Aid will be well represented at the upcoming IPWEA International Public Works Conference in Darwin, which will be held from August 11th–15th, 2013.
