Sharing your success stories

Organisations and individuals in the business of providing programs based on physical activity do Australians a huge service. They are the groups leading the campaign to forge a healthier and more physically active Australia.

The opportunities these organisations and individuals provide have a direct impact on how participants feel about physical activity and whether they are likely to continue participating.

These groups make every effort to ensure they are servicing their clients by providing well managed activities that meet their clients’ needs in safe and welcoming environments.

In recognition of these efforts a number of opportunities exist for Local Government authorities to nominate for a range of awards which recognise good practice in the provision of sport and recreation programs and facilities for local communities throughout Australia.

Being part of the Active Australia Local Government Network makes you eligible to apply for an Active Australia Award. The Active Australia Awards recognise good practices within the sport and recreation industry and will be presented at Parliament House in Canberra by the Federal Minister for Sport on 2 December.
