The Minister for Regional Services, Territories and Local Government, Senator Ian Macdonald, launched an up to date guide on Federal Government programmes at the ALGA General Assembly.
Commonwealth Assistance for Local Project 1999-2000 (CALP) is a comprehensive guide to Federal Government assistance and services available to support Local Government programmes, regional initiatives and community projects across Australia.
The publication is a valuable resource for a wide variety of organisations, including rural and regional representative groups, Councils and other Local Government bodies, community groups and local businesses.
CALP is the third in a suite of publications recently produced by the Federal Government which provide communities and individuals with easy access to information about Commonwealth programmes.
The other publications include the following.
Federal Government Services for Regional Australia: A User’s Guide. This publication contains information about Federal Government Services which are directly accessible by individuals and communities. It provides contact details for the respective departments and agencies who can provide even more information.
The Rural Book is a more comprehensive guide to regional programmes and services for groups and individuals.
CALP includes contact details for assistance, including an index of Internet sites for your convenience. Copies of CALP have been distributed to all Councils.
