Grants to restore Federation heritage buildings

As part of Manly Council’s Centenary of Federation celebrations, local property owners can apply for a ‘dollar for dollar’ grant to restore Federation era, or Federation style buildings, heritage sites, and heritage items.

In most cases, to be eligible properties must be heritage listed.

However, unlisted Federation era or Federation style items in Pittwater Road are also being considered.

Through its Federation Heritage Grants Program, with the assistance of the NSW Heritage Office, Council aims to promote heritage conservation with a focus on Federation era items.

Heritage grants are provided on a dollar for dollar basis, with the applicant matching Council’s contribution.

The grants will range in value from $250 to $1,000.

Suitable works for grants are those which would be visible from the street, including painting in heritage colours, minor repairs, removing paint from face brickwork, and reinstatement of original details.
