Redcliffe wins National Annual Report Award

Redcliffe City Council’s commitment to open and accountable communications has again been recognised with its 1999/2000 Annual Report picking up a national Annual Report Award. Council’s annual report received a silver award, the highest accolade awarded to any Queensland Local Government.

The Annual Report Awards are open to public and private sector organisations and attract entries from across Australia and New Zealand. Council had previously received two bronze trophies at these awards.

Mayor, Councillor Alan Boulton, said the Council’s annual report was not only among leaders in Local Government, it was also holding its own against the best of the private sector.

“This accolade places us alongside some of the country’s corporate high flyers and indicates that Council is serious about providing information that is useful, insightful and easily understood,” he said.

Councillor Boulton said although annual reporting had only been a mandatory requirement under the Local Government Act since 1995, Redcliffe City Council has produced reports since 1989/90.
