Annika Sorenstam may have missed the cut at the Colonial but the first all female team to enter the LGMA Management Challenge is the Australasian winner for 2003.
South Australia’s City of Charles Sturt took the top prize, with Town of Victoria Park (Western Australia) and Christchurch City Council (New Zealand) being the first and second runners up. This year’s other finalists were Marrackville Council (NSW); Maroochy Shire Council (Qld); Hobart City Council (Tas); and the Shire of Yarra Ranges (Vic).
In this, the tenth year of the Challenge, some 80 teams competed. The Challenge is a unique management development program conducted annually in Australia and New Zealand. It provides an opportunity for Council staff to learn about themselves, acquire and practise management skills, and experience team challenges/dynamics in a pressure situation.
