Meeting the natural disasters challenge

Follow up summary report

In February 2004, we reported that the recommendations contained in the report, Natural Disasters in Australia: reforming mitigation, relief and recovery arrangements, have received in principle agreement from the Council of Australian Governments.

A Summary version of the report has now been sent to local councils throughout Australia. The Summary contains information about the scope and processes of the review that led to the production of the Report, the Executive Summary from the full report and the 66 recommendations. Included with the Summary is a CD version of the full report.

To obtain more copies of the Summary or the Report, phone freecall 1800 026 222 or write to: The Commonwealth Regional Information Service, Department of Transport and Regional Services, GPO Box 594, Canberra ACT 2601.
