G-Team cleans up Ashfield

The best way to beat graffiti is to clean it up as soon as it appears. Letting it stand can attract further vandalism up and down the street. In Sydney’s Ashfield, graffiti does not stand a chance with the creation of the G-Team.

Compromising employees and a truck complete with the latest technology, the G-Team is on the streets of the Ashfield Municipality locating and removing graffiti.

The Ashfield Council project is the latest initiative in inner western Sydney in the ongoing campaign against graffiti on public property.

Ashfield Mayor, Rae Jones, said the G-Team was an excellent program and would make a real difference in the community.

“At these early stages, the G-Team will be targeting graffiti hotspots throughout Ashfield, Summer Hill, Haberfield and parts of Croydon,” the Mayor said. “The team is equipped with the latest hot water pressure cleaner and a variety of environmentally friendly chemicals for graffiti removal. Once the G-Team is established, Council will consider marketing its services to private property owners.”
