2005 LGMA National Congress

Paul Arnold, General Manager of Burnie City Council, Tasmania and Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) National President, invites colleagues from around Australia to join him at Australia’s only national conference designed by and for Local Government professionals.

“Over its long history, the LGMA National Congress has shown it consistently delivers valuable outcomes for all Local Government decision makers – appointed and elected,” Paul Arnold said.

To be held in Canberra on 22–25 May, this world class event stands out for its relevant content, expert presenters, great value and professional interaction. With 24 sessions developed around three major issues – financial sustainability, population shift and honesty in government – there is vital content for all Local Government practitioners, regardless of the location and size of their Council.

“I especially urge you to encourage younger and emerging managers to take part in a program assured of capturing their professional interest through exposure to opinion, analysis and leading practices,” Paul Arnold said.

With its three concurrent stream sessions, based on business learning, future directions and working lives, this is a key Local Government forum not to be missed.
