Remote communities take responsibility to curb water crisis *

The first major shipment of domestic and commercial Airwater machines, which produce water from the moisture in the air, have arrived in Australia. The capacity of the machines range from regenerating 25 litres of water per day for the domestic units, to between 250 and 5,000 litres per day for the commercial units.

A number of communities in south west New South Wales have taken the initiative to curb their water crisis by ordering a number of the commercial scale machines. These machines are a step towards halting the decline in water supply levels in city locations, while providing people with access to water in country towns, particularly where no town water supply to farms is available.

The initial use of the Airwater machines has been to attach them to existing rainwater tanks ensuring that they remain at full capacity all year round and providing clear potable water irrespective of rainfall.

The message is clear from the communities that have taken these initiatives. They are urging Councils all around Australia to look at these machines as part of their own water saving initiatives, or at the very least facilitate a community awareness campaign so that the general population know what options are available in assisting to curb the water crisis.
