Last year, Bundaberg City Council held a variety of activities during Local Government Week. Council ran two free movies at the Moncrieff Theatre, with a lot of promotion on radio, in the local newspaper and also on display boards placed in community centres. The event was a huge success with well over 500 people attending each individual session. Following each session, Council staff gave away balloons and stickers to all the children who attended. Their fingers haven’t yet recovered from tying off nearly 800 balloons!
The local library also hosted free morning tea and storytime for the public which was well attended.
