Councils around Australia will soon be able to provide their residents with a revolutionary new service that takes the headache and hassle out of rate payments. Launched by Acreis, the bill payment service, called Acreis Once, will benefit ratepayers and Councils alike.
Acreis’ research found that of some 10.6 million Australians who pay bills, four million have been hit with a late fee.
The way Once works is simple – households apply to Once and register all the bills they wish to be paid by Acreis from the list of available billers, such as their Council rates. The bills are then paid by Acreis (provided the account is in good standing) by the due date. Acreis sends customers a single monthly statement showing the bills paid in that month. Customers then make one payment to Acreis, once a month.
Once has been specifically designed to enable households to manage their bills in line with their cashflow.
With Once, customers can avoid potential biller late fees, penalty interest or service disconnection. The payment system simplifies how Councils collect rate payments. More importantly, it also allows Councils to focus on providing essential services to their residents, without spending time on debt collection and chasing rate payments.
According to the Chief Operating Officer, Stella Doumanis, Acreis provides households with additional options to manage their bill payments and household finances, while at the same time offering billers accelerated and assured bill payments.
“We work closely with our clients and partners, and together with Australia’s Councils and this unique model, we are set to change the way bills are paid in Australia – forever,” Stella Doumanis said.
Acreis Once was launched on to the Australian market in July 2006.
