The Pacific Edge. Part Conference, Part Festival – All Art! will be staged Mackay, Queensland from 15-17 September 2006. The team from The Pacific Edge hope to promote a better understanding of the role Arts play in building stronger regional communities through a dynamic and diverse program featuring performances, workshops, forums, discussions and debate.
Here’s a sneak peak! Set in a concentration camp in the middle of a tropical jungle, Culture with Ownership: The Voices Project explores how a missionary and a music teacher create one of the Second World War’s most incredible acts of community engagement.
Women out to lunch use imagination, laughter and creative arts to tell stories in Walking Creative Edges. With up to 800 delegates expected to attend, The Pacific Edge is sure to provide fantastic networking opportunities for Local Government, cultural organisations, art workers, RADF committee members and arts volunteers from all over Australia.
