Connected Intelligence – the single solution for LG

With its well established reputation for enterprise software solutions, Technology One has recently released its Connected Intelligence (Ci) platform, which upgrades the company’s “best in class” applications to provide a single seamless system using one common database.

Adopted to meet the raft of daily activities undertaken by Councils, Technology One’s Ci platform enables each staff member to log on and be automatically linked to the appropriate systems and their specific tasks for that day.

“This is a huge leap forward for Local Government,” said Mike Preedy, Technology One’s General Manager Property and Local Government.

“No other provider is able to provide this type of technology, linking work processes through the one system.”

With 15 years experience in the IT&T industry, Mike Preedy has recently joined Technology One, bringing with him established networks and strong relationships across the Local Government IT Management sectors.

Having previously worked for Oracle, Genasys and Technology One, most recently Mike Preedy was CEO of iPLATINUM, and as such was responsible for the launch of its outcome oriented management program for Local Government.

However, it is Technology One’s single system ‘best in class’ suite of products that has bought Mike Preedy back to Technology One.

“It is the built in business intelligence and performance planning aspects of Ci that are particularly beneficial for Councils,” Mike said.

“Managers can specify the key performance indicators they want to use, giving them the ability to manage every project and program via regular reporting against established key goals.Automatic alerts are set up that notify when projects start to run over budget or are behind schedule.

“We believe this is a powerful and compelling story for everyone in Local Government committed to financial sustainability.”

He said that in developing its single system, Technology One has not compromised but made sure that all the solutions drawn into the one suite are ‘best in class’ incorporating financials, HR and payroll, business intelligence, supply chain, works and assets, and performance planning applications.

With more than 100 Councils across Australia and NZ currently using Technology One’s solutions, six new Councils have already signed up for the Connected Intelligence system.

They include Glenorchy City Council, Warringah Council and, in New Zealand, New Plymouth District Council.

“To assist Councils interface with their community, without requiring time consuming direct contact with Council staff, our e-services platform enables various activities to be done online,” Mike Preedy said. “This is more convenient and time saving for the community and assists Councils in streamlining their processes.”

Following Technology One’s very successful Evolve conference earlier this year, a series of one day showcases is planned to provide a snapshot for Local Government practitioners on how the Ci solution and other Technology One products can deliver for their Council.

For smaller Councils, Technology One’s LGOne is a shared service solution where a group of Councils can join forces to deliver this state of the art solution across their region.
