Award winning Vincent

Vincent is honoured to have had its efforts awarded over many years, receiving plaudits across a number of fields and for a range of initiatives and activities.

Council’s Seniors’ Strategy won a Commendation in the Planning for an Ageing Community category at the 2006 National Awards for Local Government.

Planning accolades have also been bestowed, including three awards for Planning Excellence in the 2005 PIA (WA Division) Awards.

The community based visioning project, Vincent Vision 2024, not only received these prestigious awards but was also given a merit award in the National Awards for Planning Excellence in 2006.

The highly successful review of the Municipal Heritage Inventory saw the Town take out the Outstanding Contribution to Heritage in Western Australia by an Organisation Award in the 2007 Heritage Council Awards.

The water saving initiatives of Beatty Park Leisure Centre were also applauded when the centre took out the Water Conservation and Efficiency – Small Organisation Award in the 2007 WA Water Awards.

Also taking top honours in 2007 were the Ranger and Community Safety Services team, who were awarded for their efforts across a range of programs with the 2007 WA Ranger Team of the Year Award.

These awards not only recognise the efforts of the Town itself, but of the valued employees who help make Vincent the enviable locality that it is now and will be into the future.
