The IPWEA NSW Annual Conference is a major event for the Public Works Industry, providing a venue for interaction, learning, workshops, discussion and networking opportunities. The theme of the conference, to be staged from 18–21 May 2008 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Parramatta, is how to manage climate change at a local level.
Professor John Martin will discuss how delegates can implement climate change management in their local Council area. Professor John Martin is the Director of LaTrobe University’s Centre for Sustainable Regional Communities and currently assists IPWEA National in developing climate change adaptation strategies.
This year, the conference will run in conjunction with NSW Roads Directorate Annual Congress, as well as a day devoted to Road Safety Officers and their issues.
The annual IPWEA Excellence Awards will be announced as part of the three days conference. Awards include:
