Accord commitment

In 2007, the City of Boroondara signed the inaugural Victorian Local Sustainability Accord, becoming one of the first Local Governments to do so. The Accord is a Local Government initiative jointly developed with the State Government.

To further show its support for the Accord and the environment, Boroondara also delivered its own Local Environmental Sustainability Priority Statement last December. Such actions create opportunities for Council to participate in regional partnerships and to apply for State Government funding allocations; as well as being an example of how all levels of government can work together to continue to push the environmental envelope.
