Stirling scoops national telecommunications award

The City of Stirling has been recognised in the national Australian Telecommunications Association (ATA) Awards as the top contact centre in Australia with under 50 full time employees.

The ATA promotes excellence, growth and leadership in the Australian contact centre industry, and is the leading contact centre body in Australia.

The 15th ATA Awards were announced in Sydney in September, with Stirling competing against State finalists from around Australia to take out its award. It was the only Local Government among the State finalists.

“This award is a fantastic result for the City of Stirling and its dedicated Customer Contact Centre team,” said Stirling Mayor David Boothman. “Following on from winning the under 50 full time employee category in the Western Australian category of the ATA Awards earlier in the year, receiving national recognition is an amazing achievement.

“The City’s Customer Contact Centre answers an average of 5,000 calls per week and is the first point of contact with the City’s 190,000 residents, many of whom have concerns or queries.”

The City of Stirling Customer Contact Centre provides residents with a wealth of information on services and facilities across the City, and answers all telephone calls via the City’s main telephone number.

The City’s Customer Contact Centre team comprises 19 staff members.
