Growing business confidence as CivEnEx gears up for another bumper expo in 2010

The Institute of Public Works Engineers NSW (IPWEA) says the Federal Government’s infrastructure spending and other public sector programs continue to boost demand for equipment and services. It also believes that business confidence generated by this support has started to flow on to the private sector.

IPWEA’s CivEnEx manager, Frank Sticka observed that many suppliers of equipment and services have reviewed their strategy during 2009 and were now placing emphasis on ‘fine tuning’ their business by introducing new products, investing in staff skills, improving customer service and more carefully targeting promotional effort.

“Interest by suppliers and their markets in CivEnEx 2010 demonstrates the importance businesses are placing on face to face communication,” Frank Sticka said.

“To many, this event represents one of the cornerstones of their promotional strategy.”

Steve Colliver, Manager Fleet Management Services at Dubbo City Council, said that CivEnEx is without parallel in terms of the range of products on display.

“It’s a great chance to speak to company CEOs and state managers to find out if they are hearing what we are saying and to find out future trends in terms of product releases,” Steve said.

“Like most rural councils we don’t often get the opportunity to compare like items, so we carry out our evaluation of products while at CivEnEx.”

CivEnEx 2010 will be held on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 May 2010 at the Western Sydney International Dragway at Eastern Creek.
