Sediment control – improving stormwater quality*

Unsealed road networks can produce large amounts of sediment and a good proportion of this sediment will end up in our creeks and rivers. Once in our waterways it can cause environmental harm to plants and animals as well as lowering the overall quality of our water.

Local councils are environmentally conscious and are consistently striving to improve local conditions for residents and the environment. With large networks of unsealed roads, councils are struggling to manage stormwater quality and other associated problems.

The most efficient way to reduce sediment runoff to waterways is:

  • produce a road surface with the best available material
  • keep the road well graded and compacted (essential)
  • ensure good drainage from the road surface
  • maintain good roadside vegetation and sediment traps.

PolyCom Stabilising Aid will maintain a well graded and compacted road surface and ensure good drainage.

PolyCom can be introduced at the time of a maintenance grade at very little additional cost and is easy to use. It will significantly increase the strength of the pavement, producing an area that will resist wear and tear, traffic damage and erosion damage from water and wind. The product is totally safe to the environment and will not leech out into the surrounds.

Using PolyCom reduces the amount of maintenance to the treated area. Maintenance intervals can be considerably increased due to the increased strength of the treated pavement. The less maintenance required, the less money you need to spend.

PolyCom Stabilising Aid is Australian designed and manufactured and is unique in the world today. There is nothing else like it.
