K-9 KUBE set to revolutionise OH&S

What has been 18 months in development has come to fruition with the official launch of the K-9 KUBE in Swan Hill on 30 March.

Australian designed and manufactured in Swan Hill by CJM Attachments, this innovative hydraulic lifting device that loads and transports animals safely is set to revolutionise Occupational Health and Safety for Local Government authorised officers who handle dogs and other animals.

Produced in consultation with staff from Swan Hill Rural City Council, the device is an outstanding example of Local Government and local industry working together to create a solution to the ‘lift and bite risk’ problem which is regularly experienced in the working day of local laws officers around Australia.

Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Manager Regulatory Services Harold Rovere said the new device eliminates the lift and bite risk, and enables officers to handle animals in the safest possible way – on many occasions eliminating the use of capture poles.

“It certainly removes a lot of issues when handling dogs and other animals into the Local Laws vehicle and further ensures the safety of our officers when dealing with aggressive dogs,” Harold Rovere said.

The K-9 KUBE is easily installed onto the tray of a single or twin cab one tonne utility. The containment box has two well ventilated compartments, and has a combined total maximum lifting weight of 200kg for multiple animals.

One person is all that is required to operate the K-9 KUBE with easy push button controls, interior light, self locking sliding doors, and hazard lights adding to the safety features.

Then when the job is done, the fresh gloss white finish and clear edges allows the containment box to be easily cleaned inside and out.
