Registry for jobs at Whitehorse

Whitehorse City Council has launched an innovative new recruitment system that makes job searching easier and helps it to find the right person for the role.

Whitehorse Councillor John Koutras said that the system will help to match up job seekers with roles in which they have a genuine interest.

"This allows job seekers to register their details and their interests, so they can be notified of any positions that arise within Council that they are suited to," he said.

Council’s new recruitment system takes the leg work out of finding the right job, as Council will email job seekers with alerts as soon as a vacancy comes up in their nominated area.

"You no longer need to scour newspapers and regularly check job websites – simply log on, register your details and tell us what positions you are interested in," Councillor Koutas said. "If a vacancy comes up in your nominated area, we’ll let you know about it.

"You will also become part of a talent pool, allowing Council to match up job interests with relevant current vacancies."

Whitehorse City is in eastern metropolitan Melbourne and aspires to foster an inclusive, vibrant, prosperous and sustainable community.

Councillor Koutras said Council encouraged its employees to have a balance between their work and personal lives and recognises the important role that personal development and wellbeing play in creating a satisfying workplace.

Council’s new recruitment system is designed to help people to take the next step in their career or to make a change that brings job satisfaction.
