Implemented and proven*

In February 2010, New South Wales Electoral Commission (NSWEC) sought to replace their existing payroll provider with an organisation demonstrating strong corporate commitment to excellence and high levels of quality assurance within a high profile, mission critical environment.

Following rigorous assessment against evaluation criteria, mandatory, operational, capability and value analysis, Aurion entered into a three year contractual relationship with NSWEC to deliver professional services. This included payroll and superannuation processing, legislative and adhoc reports, as well as helpdesk services. All delivered via a secure hosted environment with a number of interfaces to transfer attendance data.

NSWEC’s decision to upgrade their existing payroll system was based on Aurion’s ability to:

  • process large volumes of employee information quickly for a rapidly expanding contingent workforce
  • manage timesheets through a hosted environment and self-service web browser
  • output files to interface with NSWEC’s existing financial management information system in addition to analysing other payroll and accounting information,

Three months after “Go Live,” the State Government Election was held on Saturday, 26 March 2011. Aurion successfully implemented the project and processed a payroll covering almost 20,000 NSWEC personnel. This large scale requirement was accurately processed and delivered against all critical milestones. Feedback received from NSWEC’s Director of Finance confirmed our successful delivery of all requirements. The pay process went very smoothly and on schedule. As a result the partnership between Aurion and NSWEC looks set to continue with discussions around the potential for expansion to the project’s scope.
