Microwave radio networks for Local Governments*

ATI Australia Pty Limited is a wholly owned Australian company focused in the design and deployment of microwave radio networks. Our engineering design team is dedicated to the design, installation and support of world class telecommunications networks.

ATI Australia has 20 years experience working with councils across Australia, specialising in fast and effective microwave wireless telecommunications systems providing connectivity enabling voice connection, internet connection and the transfer of data between the Council’s sites. Some examples include:

Bega Valley Shire Council

ATI designed a network which combines extremely high network capacity with carrier quality availability whilst maintaining cost effectiveness. ATI provided a high capacity licenced microwave backbone connecting the Council head office to various Council sites in and around Bega. ATI integrated the new equipment into the existing network. Over the past 10 years ATI has continued to support and maintain the network for Bega Valley Shire Council.

Gold Coast City Council

Gold Coast City Council is the largest Local Government in Australia and spans from Tweed Heads on the NSW border to the Brisbane Local Government Area. ATI was selected as the preferred supplier for microwave radio services in 2004 to supply 30 licenced turnkey microwave radio services to Gold Coast City Council. The most rapid deployment was to install ten links within a four month period.

During the network upgrade the Council required all existing links to remain active. ATI installed the new links in parallel with the existing network. The cutover to the new network was completed out of hours and during weekends when the Council offices and facilities were closed to staff and the general public. This project and subsequent projects have been completed on time and within budget.

Adelaide Hills Council

ATI recently won a tender to provide Adelaide Hills Council with a Wireless Data Communications network connecting several Council Sites. ATI undertook a full network design and provided the technical specifications and equipment details for the bidirectional digital wireless microwave system. This network involves the provision of new infrastructure including a new pole installed on Council land. ATI designed the network with flexibility to fully meet Adelaide Hills Council’s availability requirements.

ATI can introduce you to one of more than 25 local councils throughout Australia who are benefitting financially and operationally from an ATI telecommunications system.
