Chatswood Library celebrates one million

One million people have visited the Chatsworth library. The extensive collection, state of the art resource centre and the knowledgeable and helpful staff keep them coming.

Willoughby City Council’s Chatswood Library has received one million visitors since officially opening in September 2011.

One of the largest public libraries in New South Wales, the library has catered to an average of 10,000 patrons each week and has signed up more than 17,000 new members.

A state of the art information and resource centre, Chatswood Library features an extensive collection of more than 236,000 items, quiet study areas, self-checkouts, free WiFi, a local history collection, a language learning facility, and a range of community learning programs for all ages.

Willoughby Mayor Pat Reilly commended the library staff for their hard work and thanked the community for their overwhelming support
and patronage.

“This incredible public response is a testament to the world class services and facilities offered at Chatswood Library,” Councillor Reilly said.
