Landfill Conference*

The 5th Australian Landfill and Transfer Stations Conference & Expo will be held from 7th to 9th August 2013 at Jupiters Gold Coast.

The conference will begin on Tuesday 6th August with a pre-conference workshop on Landfill Gas (LFG), filled with practical examples of managing LFG from many experienced professionals from Australia and the UK.

The Technical Tours and Landfill and Transfer Stations Field Day will follow on Wednesday 7th August, and will be opened by the Queensland Minister for Environment, Andrew Powell.

The official conference proceedings begin on Thursday 8th August with a welcome address from the local federal member Steven Ciobo, followed by key note presentations from ISWA members Derek Greedy, a UK landfill expert, and Luis Marinheiro, who has extensive experience in transfer stations in Continental Europe.

The day will continue with presentations aimed at Innovations in Design and Operations, Planning for and Around Essential Infrastructure, Living with Carbon and E-Waste Recovery.

The Friday sessions will focus on Developments in Plant and Equipment and Coping with Extremes. The second plenary session will be held with a key note address from Marcus Geisler, Chair of the WA Waste Authority on Planning for Disposal in WA, followed by a presentation and Q&A session with Rick Ralph from WRIQ on Fair Play and Financial Assurances.

The conference also includes a number of social functions, providing a great opportunity to network with peers and other professionals in the industry.

As the conference marks its return to the state where it all began, we hope that you are able to join us to hear from industry leaders and experts, meet with suppliers and network with other waste and resource recovery industry representatives.
