Since its recent launch The Loddon Mallee Region Investment Prospectus 2014 has attracted attention from government, business and industry.

Developed by the Loddon Mallee Regional Development Australia Committee in partnership with Loddon Campaspe Councils and the Murray River Group of Councils on behalf of the Region, the prospectus sums up opportunities in region ripe for investments.

“The Prospectus encompasses four streams of priority projects that are ready for investment to leverage the region’s strengths,” said Ms Jenny Dawson, Chair of the Loddon Mallee RDA Committee.

“Inside you will find information about 23 projects that will increase the region’s productivity and prosperity through growing the capacity to support an extra 72,000 people in Loddon Mallee, $1 billion tourism industry, $6.9 billion export industry and the $1.9 billion agricultural output.”

Projects in these fields are expected to benefit the region by creating new jobs, strengthening existing industry, enhance liveability, grow the region’s food bowl and attract tourism.

Chair of the Loddon Campaspe Councils Councillor Barry Lyons said these priority projects are central to the Loddon Mallee Region’s future prosperity and will enable the region to continue its valuable contribution to the State’s economy.

“Priorities that will specifically benefit business and communities in the Greater Bendigo area include a new runway for Bendigo Airport, construction of the Bendigo Regional Indoor Aquatic Centre, infrastructure upgrades to Bendigo growth corridor, La Trobe University Bendigo student residential accommodation and an upgrade of V/Lines regional passenger lines.”
