The best in early education and care

Victoria’s very best in the early education and care profession have been announced in this year’s Australian Family Early Education & Care Awards.

The three state winners have been selected from the impressive pool of 88 finalists from across Australia and are now vying for the prestigious title of national winner in their respective category of Early Childhood Director of the Year, Early Childhood Educator of the Year and Early Childhood Service of the Year.

The awards, now in their tenth year, is the country’s only national annual awards, open to the early education and care profession and nominations are received from parents, colleagues, managers, family and friends.  To determine the national winner of each category, each state winner will meet with the judging panel to present their promise to ongoing quality improvement and innovation as part of a three-day professional development event.

The awards are part of the Australian Family Early Education & Care Awards 10th Anniversary Gala Celebration at the end of June.

The five areas of criteria are improving the wellbeing of the children, improving the children’s program, improving the early childhood service, ongoing professional learning and development and improving inclusive interactions and partnerships with families.

“Each year we are overwhelmed by the level of nominations we receive and the incredible caliber of finalists and state winners and this year is no exception,” said Australian Family Managing Director and Judging Chairman, Paul Clancy.

“Without a doubt, we have some of the most talented, passionate and experienced professionals in the early education and care sector here in Australia and they absolutely deserve to be recognised.”

The national winners of each category will be announced at the Australian Family Early Education & Care Awards 10th Anniversary Gala Celebration on Friday June 20 at the Sheraton on the Park Sydney and share in over $75,000 in prizes including $40,000 in training and professional development grants.
