Northern Beaches Hospital Precinct structure plan

The Northern Beaches Hospital Precinct

Warringah Council has appointed consultants, Hames Sharley, to prepare a Precinct Structure Plan to guide future land uses and development around the new Northern Beaches Hospital at Frenchs Forest, New South Wales.

The twelve-month project will consider environmental, social, economic, traffic, transport and accessibility issues, as well as the mix of open space and development.

“The NSW Government has asked us to consider the implications of the hospital project on the wider area,” Mayor of Warringah Michael Regan said.

“This is a massive opportunity for us to create an innovative precinct that stimulates economic growth and provides friendly and accessible spaces for the public.

“I’m especially keen to see sustainable transport options as part of the new health precinct.”

The Precinct Structure Plan will develop a policy framework to guide the area’s future development.

The total area to be assessed is approximately 200 hectares of land that includes a business park, and a shopping centre.

The area has also been identified as a specialist precinct by the NSW Government because of the potential for economic opportunities associated with the development of the new hospital.
