Environmentally-friendly horse wash down bay

Sunshine Coast Council has completed an upgrade of the Mooloolah Pony Club wash down bay, making it one of the best facilities in
the area.

Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay said the Mooloolah Pony Club is a popular community facility, which has a loyal membership base that will benefit from the new horse wash down bay.

“The scope of the works included demolishing the existing horse wash down bay, paving, irrigation and landscaping.

“Council is working towards a sustainable environment and the installation of the wash down bay is another step forward to achieving this goal.

“It was important that the wash down bay was environmentally-friendly and included a pump station and a sewerage connection to meet good land
management practice.”

Mooloolah Pony Club President Nicolle Jolly said the pony club would like to thank Sunshine Coast Council for their continued support and ongoing investment into their facility.

“Thanks to Council Mooloolah Pony Club now have some of the best facilities in the zone.

“The wash down bay will complement our existing wonderful facilities including a large grassed area, sand arena, round yard and day yards.

“Importantly, it also provides a safe area for the children to wash down their ponies which is environmentally-friendly for our surrounding water ways.”
