Three decades of service celebrated

Cr Lutton and Cr Able are the City of Logan’s longest serving Councillors.

Deputy Mayor Russell Lutton (Division 2) and Animals and City Standards Committee Chair, Councillor Graham Able (Division 5) have become the City of Logan’s longest serving Councillors.

Sworn in on the 15 April 1985, both councillors have many achievements of which to be proud.

Councillor Lutton said delivering vital services for the community has always been front of mind.

”Division 2 is a great place full of great people and I am very happy with the parks, roads and other amenities we have delivered.

“Helping deliver the City of Choice Two-Year Action Plan and seeing the positive change is one of the recent achievements I am very proud of.”

Councillor Able said the Berrinba Wetlands is one of his proudest achievements.

“Seeing people enjoying the natural beauty of the wetlands is fantastic and it is a real attraction that draws people into our city.”

As for working together both councillors agreed that while there have been many disagreements, they were all in the best interest of the city.

“We get along well and robust debate is important as it helps ensure the views of everybody in the community are taken into account,” said Councillor Able.
