Flinders University’s School of the Environment is a multidisciplinary school with high quality teaching and research, focused on effective solutions to environmental issues.

Many different courses are offered at the postgraduate level.

The program in Environmental Management introduces theory and practice in environmental management, and may include environmental economics, philosophy or politics.

Graduate careers include policy, research and planning.

Applied Population Studies is a specialist stream, which draws on demography, geography, sociology, economics and public health.

Graduate careers include overseas development, health and family planning, development planning, statistical services, policy and research.

The online Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health Practice is professionally accredited by Environmental Health Australia.

Graduates are allowed to practice as Environmental Health Officers (EHOs).

It is the premier degree of its kind in Australia.

Graduate careers include councils, government health departments, environmental protection, water catchment management agencies and food, mining, and environmental industries.

The online Master in Environmental Health develops project management skills of practicing EHOs.

The postgraduate programs in Science (Groundwater Hydrology) provide an understanding of environmental hydrological processes.
Coursework is combined with a research/industry training project.

Graduates careers include government agencies, environmental consultancies, and water utilities.

The postgraduate programs in Science (Water Resources Management) gives access to science and management expertise-research to increase knowledge and skills in water resources management.

Graduates careers include government, consultancies, water management bodies, aid and agricultural organisations.

The postgraduate programs in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) provide skills in GIS and remote sensing.

Graduates careers include urban and regional planning, infrastructure management, transportation, environmental-biological sciences, biodiversity management and archaeology.

At the undergraduate level The Bachelor of Environment, The Bachelor of Applied Geographical Information Systems as well as Majors in the Bachelors of Science, Arts and Education are offered.
