Arts fever running high in the winter months

The City of Casey in Victoria is hosting a bumper program of winter arts events, encouraging residents to get moving, making and creating throughout the colder months.

Running throughout June, July and August, the annual festival showcases and celebrates arts in Casey with events, activities and workshops across the municipality.

City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz said this year’s program of events is the biggest yet, with more on offer for residents to get involved in than ever before.

“With everything from art exhibitions and school holiday fun for kids to theatre shows, dance classes and workshops, there’s endless creative fun to keep you warm over the winter months.

“Some highlights of this year’s festival include a ‘dance like Beyoncé’ class, an art bus tour, photography field trips, a puppet party for kids, the Grand Imaginarium three-day event for children, musicals including Annie and Aladdin and engaging workshops, including one on how to get your writing published,” said the Mayor.

“Not only does the festival allow residents to have some fun, get involved in arts and try new things, but it also helps showcase and promote our wonderful local artists and art and cultural groups and organisations.

“I encourage the community to check out the action-packed program and fill your winter months with some arts fun for the whole family.”
