Australia’s top children’s books will come to life across Isaac Regional Council this Children’s Book Week.
Mayor Anne Baker said to celebrate the Isaac Libraries is holding special story time events from August 22 – 26.
“Kids aged up to five years are invited to join in activities including special craft sessions and readings of the short listed stories from the Book of the Year Awards.
“Children are welcome to come dressed as their favorite book character and bring their favorite book.
“It’s a fun event that gets kids involved and develops a love of reading from a young age.
“The first five years of a child’s life is a most important time to nurture your child’s love of language and reading.”
This year Children’s Book Week will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Children’s Book of the Year Awards.
