Community engagement summit 2016: a new era of community engagement*

The inaugural Community Engagement Summit 2016 presents a new era of community engagement showcasing brand new insights and best practice community engagement techniques at the two-day conference 10–11 November, Mercure Hotel, Sydney.

The event will provide the next generation of engagement and consultation with cutting edge technologies and innovative methods to be detailed at the summit. Presentations from 18 industry experts will showcase leading case studies and demonstrate successes.

Attendees will gain an insight into how to utilise new technologies, such as the recent Pokémon Go phenomenon, to engage and reach audiences in new and exciting ways. A presentation on 3D printing will detail how 3D models can be used in community consultation, creating a clearer picture for stakeholders. The summit will also feature Virtual Reality and how it can be used to put the stakeholder at the centre of the project development process.

The summit will also delve into how to reach the ‘hard to reach’ and how to combine traditional consultation methods with innovative technologies to produce a holistic engagement program. Attendees will also learn the foundations of effective public speaking and presenting to an audience, an essential requirement for every community engagement professional.

The conference is presented by Community Engagement Training Australia. Tickets to the Summit are now available at www.cesummit2016.com. A special Early Bird Discount for LG Focus readers is available until 10 October by using the promotional code LG Focus.
