Councils partner for procurement project

Six regional councils in Victoria are set to benefit from a collaborative procurement project.

The City of Ballarat, Ararat Rural City Council, Golden Plains Shire Council, Hepburn Shire Council, Moorabool Shire Council and Pyrenees Shire Council have partnered to award a tender for the bituminous road resealing program.

The contract, valued in excess of $5.8 million annually, was awarded to Victorian Surfacing Alliance Pty Ltd t/a Inroads Pty Ltd and Primal Surfacing Pty Ltd.

Ballarat Mayor Councillor Samantha McIntosh said there would be considerable savings as a result of this combined procurement project.

“It is the second time we’ve partnered with our surrounding councils and the combined savings to our local communities are significant over the life of the contract.

“It’s an innovative project and we thank our councillor colleagues for their commitment in working together for such a successful outcome.”

The tender is for a three-year period with an option to extend the contract.
