Bike Week celebrations returned to the Shire of East Pilbara, Western Australia, this year following the Shire’s successful application for funding from the Department of Transport.

Shire President, Lynne Craigie, said, “Bike Week has been a popular event across the Shire for several years now and our funding application success is great news for our community.”

This year Bike Week celebrations in Newman included the inaugural ‘Bike Bingo’.

This event has teams of two to five riders solving riddles, which direct them to a location where they will complete a challenge to receive a sticker for their Bingo Card. The first team to complete all nine challenges on their Bingo card was declared the winner.

Events were also held in Marble Bar and Nullagine with bike repair lessons, a colouring competition and a community ride.

Bike Week is presented in partnership by the Department of Transport and WestCycle with the aim to promote and encourage riding for transport, fun and a healthier lifestyle.
